Biography

Name: Lutheran /Morris/[1] [2] [3] [iv] [v] [half-dozen] [vii]

Lutheran was born 17 Oct 1739 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey, USA[8] [9] [10] [11] He was christened 12 December 1787 in St. George'due south Anglican church, Parrsboro, Kings Co., Nova Scotia[12]

He married Catherine Ann Swan in 1759 in New York, USA[xiii] [14] [15] [16]

He arrived in Nova Scotia in 1787.[17] [18]

Event: Luther Morris is listed with Militia Company 16 (John Mersereau's Company), and came to Saint John (July Fleet) on the transport "Lord Townsend" with 47 other adults associated with that visitor. The July Fleet departed New York about July 8, 1783.

Date: 1781
Place: 3rd Battalion of New Jersey Volunteers, a Loyalist Regiment[20]

He received a land grant of 500 acres in the Township of Parrsborough, Kings Co., Nova Scotia (now Cumberland Co.). At that place are many deeds in Cumberland Co. Land Records concerning the purchase of various parcels of country at Advocate Harbor, NS by Luther Morris.[21]

He died 14 Sep 1839 in Abet Harbour, Kings Co., Nova Scotia. [22] [23] [24] The eleven Nov 1839 edition of "some newspaper" reported: "d. Abet Harbor, 14th Sept., Lutheran Morris, age 100, born in State of New Jersey and served in British Army during the Revolutionary State of war."[25]
